From ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು to दिल्ली

Many Miles, Many Memories

There were countless times I traveled from ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು (Bangalore) to दिल्ली (Delhi), and each journey left behind its own unforgettable story.

!This is a collection of three short stories from all my Bangalore to Delhi adventures!

Year 2018: Love at first sight 😍

I wasn’t feeling well on the day of my flight, but I didn’t want to miss it. I managed to convince my family that I was absolutely fine and insisted I needed to return to work. As always, I reached the airport early, completed all the departure formalities, and began waiting patiently at the gate.

Soon, an announcement came through — the flight was delayed by an hour due to bad weather. To distract myself from both the wait and my discomfort, I wandered through the airport, browsing shops and picking up a few little things. I even managed to finish watching a movie I had originally saved to enjoy during the flight.

But just 40 minutes later, a second announcement was made: another delay of an hour. This time, it was harder to keep my mind off the pain or the passing time. Still, somehow, that hour crawled by.

Finally, the crew began preparations for boarding. I was still feeling uneasy — until I caught a glimpse of one of the stewards. He looked incredibly smart and composed. Just seeing him brought an unexpected shift in my mood. In that moment, all my pain seemed to melt away.

I boarded the flight with a smile, suddenly light and carefree. Forget the discomfort — I was on cloud nine, floating in the soft daze of a pleasant distraction. For those few hours, it almost felt like he was mine.

And then, just like that, we landed at Delhi Airport. The moment ended, and I had to part ways — back to reality, but with a heart just a little fuller than before 💕

Year 2017: Messiah 😇

This is the story of how my brother came to my rescue when I nearly missed an important flight. At the time, he was staying in a PG (paying guest accommodation) in Koramangala, while I lived in another PG near Silk Board.

The night before my flight, my brother had already given me clear instructions to be on time. But I made the classic mistake of going to bed with my earphones in, music playing, and multiple alarms set—none of which I heard. Unaware of the ticking clock, I kept sleeping peacefully.

My brother, sensing something was off, tried calling me at least ten times to wake me up. But with the music blaring in my ears, I didn’t hear a single ring. Knowing where I stayed, he got ready earlier than planned and rushed over to my PG.

Once there, he pleaded with the warden to help wake me up, explaining that his sister had a flight to catch and hadn’t answered the phone in over an hour. It took a good 30 minutes to convince her, and by then, my neighbors were also involved—trying to knock on my door and wake me up. Oddly enough, even my roommates hadn’t opened the door until then.

When they finally did, they realized how urgent the situation was and immediately woke me up. I was shocked to see the time—and even more shocked to see a small crowd waiting outside my door. “Your brother is waiting downstairs,” they said. “Don’t you have a flight to catch?”

I jumped into action. Thankfully, my bags were already packed, so I quickly got ready. My brother and I rushed to the airport and made it just in time—only half an hour before boarding. But we made it!

Year 2016

Unwanted Encounter 😐

Fortunately, my seat was unexpectedly upgraded from economy to business class, a pleasant surprise that added a touch of comfort to my journey. A well-mannered older gentleman was seated next to me, and he soon struck up a conversation, showing interest in my hometown, profession, and personal interests. Caught off guard and unaware of his intentions, I responded candidly—perhaps a bit too openly, like an innocent, unguarded girl.

During the flight, he even offered me a drink from the selection he had ordered. Once we landed, he waited patiently at the baggage claim and kindly offered to help with my luggage, though I politely declined.

Soon after, he asked if I would accompany him for an outing to UB City and insisted on exchanging contact details, mentioning he’d be in town for a week. His persistence unsettled me, and I respectfully turned down his requests. Sensing discomfort, I took a different route to distance myself and ensure my own peace of mind.
